The kids left out their shoes with high hopes for St. Nicholas Day on the night of the 5th.

They were up well before the sunrise to check out their loot. Among chocolates and candy canes, St. Nicholas brought each child a pair of new shoes and a Christmas storybook. This year's new books included The Legend of St. Nicholas, B is for Bethlehem (Definitely a new favorite!), Song of the Stars and a new version of The Nutcracker. We will enjoy these books through the season and add them to our Advent and Christmas collection for future years!
Sometimes being a parent is tough. Dominic did not sleep through that night. He was stirring at 2AM and 3AM and woke up his brothers at 4AM. Michael and I were pretty upset about this, knowing that we would be dealing with very cranky, sleep-deprived children through the next day. We found out however that he had been restless through the night because he was excited to stuff Mommy and Daddy's shoes before we woke up. So sweet, yet so annoying.
Our day ended with a very special outing to an NHL game, thanks to my Dad and Mom. The boys had a blast. We hung out with the mascot AND made appearances on the Jumbo-Tron.
Celeste definitely does not know how to keep a low-profile!...
Our Ducks won, and our experience was so much fun!
