4th of july

With the 4th falling on a Wednesday, we couldn't make our annual Big Bear trip this year.  That being said, we ended up have a great mid-week holiday!

We went to mass and said some special prayers for our country and for religious freedom.  Things are getting a little crazy around here these days, (but that is an entire post in itself).

We picked up bagels after mass, and headed to the park for some family playtime and a picnic.  It is always such a treat to have Daddy around on a weekday morning!

Following our afternoon naps, we went to Tom and Shannon's for a bbq and fireworks.  Dominic has so much fun with his cousins.  Those kids are such sweethearts, I can only pray that Dominic and Gabriel grow-up to be so loving and respectful!

Tom and Shannon live right across the street from a high school, where the city shoots off fireworks.  We had front row seats, with the luxury of hanging around their home!  It was especially perfect for Nana (Dominic's great-grandma), and our baby Gabriel (who was passed out for the entire show).  Nana, Gabriel and I had a perfect view of the entire show from the living room couch!
