holy week

It is hard to believe that Holy Week is here!
Lent flies by when you are taking care of three babies.

This year for Lent, we gave up TV and read a lot.  We also prayed the Stations of the Cross as a family on Fridays.

We made our traditional Lenten pretzels.  They taste much more like a treat than a fasting food!

The boys worked on earning beans for good deeds, to add to their bean jar.  On Easter the beans will transform into... jelly beans!

Dominic prayed plenty of extra masses for us.

Since Nicholas is still too young for penance, we toughed him up by dog piling on him.  In return, he helps us along with our mortifications by staying up all-night ;-).

For the final stretch this week we will be preparing our home for Easter, attending Holy Thursday mass and Good Friday service, and helping to put on our parish's Easter Egg Hunt.  We will also be getting ready for a special-someone's fifth birthday on Saturday, and of course attending a special mass on Easter and singing the (a-word) at the top of our lungs!

Happy Holy Week!
