4th of July Weekend

We had a very memorable 4th of July weekend in Big Bear with my family.   Memorable is the key descriptive word because although we had a blast overall, unfortunately some of us also spent time in the ER.

If you remember my Big Bear post from a few weeks ago, you might have noticed the photos we took of our rather dangerous "adult" swing.  While trying to help my brother Philippe off the swing this past weekend, a rock ran into my dad's hand and made a deep cut into his finger.  He wound up with seven stitches!  It was heartbreaking to see him get hurt, but as always my dad had a positive outlook on it.  After all, he got back from the hospital in time to see the awesome firework show!

We took Dominic to the "Big Bear Animal Park".  For a small town, the zoo was pretty cute.  We saw  mountain lions, wolves and bears --  Oh my!

It seemed appropriate to photograph the Bald Eagle on Independence Day.

Stealing kisses back and forth.

We like to keep things casual in Big Bear.

We got together with Michael's side of the family on Monday evening for a delicious gnocchi dinner at Paul and Saras.  Dominic was thrilled to share more "cousin bonding time" on the trampoline.
