Since our home is on the market, we've done a lot of "decluttering" lately. Our framed photos are packed away and most of our belongings are hidden in cabinets or closets. We make sure that toys are put back in their place before we leave the house, and the kitchen is always be tidy in case of an unexpected showing. Although having a perfect home with 2 babies has been stressful, it has also felt so good. Our little condo feels more open, more simple and more beautiful. We've already vowed that when we move, our decor will reflect this non-cluttered style.
For this reason, we were unsure about how many Christmas decorations we should put up this year, and so have kept it fairly simple for now. Once again, we are discovering so much hidden beauty in our simple and quiet Advent moments. 1 week away though, it is already beginning to feel a lot like Christmas... :)
