Easter season from our kitchen

The Easter season lasts 50 days, and since Easter Sunday became an official "sugar fest", I decided to push back our Resurrection Roll activity a few days.

To make resurrection rolls, we dipped marshmallows (representing Jesus) into butter and cinnamon (representing burial spices).  As you can see below, Dominic sampled several of our "Jesus'", or marshmallows.

Afterwards, we wrapped the marshmallow in refrigerated crescent roll dough (burial cloths).

Next, we popped them into the oven (according to crescent roll package directions).

After baking, we cut open one of our rolls, and the marshmallow was gone!  It was now a hollow roll, or an empty tomb.  Alleluia, Christ is risen!!  (And they made a very delicious snack!)
