bonne fete dominic

Dominic Pierre turned three-years-old on
April 19th.

Happy Birthday, my precious baby.  You are such a big boy, I can hardly believe it.

These days, you are still the passionate, intelligent, determined, and deeply loving little man we met that evening at the hospital.  Your spirit magnifies the joy, happiness (and sometimes frustration) in our home, and let's face it, you've figured out how to run the place.

Every day I am amazed by your brilliance.  You are truly a sponge, soaking in every bit of knowledge around you.  Your sweet curiosity leads you to continually discover this bigger world you live in, and your unique perception of many things helps all of us see the "awe" of our everyday lives.

Though you still have a few cute "toddler-isms" in your language, you've masted the art of conversation.  We love hearing your unique opinions (and you definitely make sure those opinions are heard!).  You are also a pretty funny kid, who loves to delight us with your humor and make us laugh!

The concepts you are grasping also seem to surpass your age!  One of our favorite ways to learn is through storybooks.  We snuggle up and read about all kinds of fascinating subjects.  Usually after reading a book once or twice through, you've already memorized the story and direct lines.  It's tough for a (tired) mommy or daddy to get by with paraphrasing stories!

This year we've watched you become a big brother, learn more independence, and also consequently master your self-amusement skills.  You love eating sweets, dress-up games, singing songs, Thomas the train, playing at the park, and reading, reading (and more reading).

And your mommy and daddy love YOU with all of their might.

Happy Birthday Domi-nicky.  MUAH.

(I should probably invest in non-Christmas wrapping paper).

Peek-a-Boo!

Dominic, Gabriel and I hosted a birthday play-date at the park.

After work, Daddy met us at the Spectrum for a "family-night-out".  Grandpapa and Grandmaman happened to stop by as well :).

Big. Baby. Smooches!

Looks like a pretty great third birthday, wouldn't you agree??
